VIRENT-IT Applications Administrator

The IT Application Administrator is responsible for ensuring the support, availability, security, and optimal performance of our application systems. This includes SharePoint, Office365, SAP ERP, and various laboratory information management systems and electronic notebooks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This list of duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive and may expand to include other duties as assigned.

  • Function as the point of contact for application systems
  • Review, evaluate, design, implement and maintain application systems
  • Ensures that accurate and effective solutions are provided to end users
  • Provide business users with prompt support by analyzing problems, researching and answering questions, and troubleshooting
  • Work with users & external consultants to develop technical solutions to business changes
  • Recommends new solutions and upgrades in alignment with business requirements
  • Work with end users to define and develop ad-hoc reporting
  • Develop specifications according to business requirements
  • Configure application systems and monitor performance of systems
  • Perform user administration and security management
  • Coordinate and perform testing of all system changes with business area user
  • Identifies and recommends system modifications to improve user efficiency
  • Test modifications and new releases of applications prior to distribution
  • Prepare new users by conducting training on how to use applications
  • Perform special projects and assignments as required
  • Assist with providing support to other areas within IT as required
  • Perform some duties outside of business hours
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and Office365 is a must
  • Knowledge in ERP systems is preferred but not required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in in Business, Computer Sciences or related field; experience may be substituted for EDUCATION
  • Two years of experience in Software application administration or development, IT project management and IT applications analysis.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users
